Setting up Kid’s Corner on your Windows Phone will give you the possibility of letting your kid borrow your smartphone without having to worry about what he or she might be able to do with it. The idea is you grant Kid’s Corner access ONLY to the apps, movies, videos and games you want.

Turn on and configure Kid’s Corner on a Windows Phone device.

To turn on Kid’s Corner on your Windows Phone device, you need to go to Settings and Kid’s Corner option.

To grant Kids Corner permission to access Apps, games, music, or videos, you simply click on the link you want to grant access to, and select what you want from the list shown in each case.

Use Kid’s Corner

There are two ways to access Kid’s Corner. One is to launch it from the setup screen, using the button Launch Kid’s Corner. The other way is from the Main Lock Screen:

  1. Whipe left to see the Main Lock Screen for the Kid’s Corner.
  2. Swipe up, as you would the regular Main Lock Screen, to enter Kid’s Corner.

To exit Kid’s Corner you just press the POWER button briefly. When you press it again the Main Lock Screen will show, as usual.

When using Kid’s Corner you will only be able to access what has been configured before.

Your kids will also be able to customize their corner, setting a background picture for the Lock Screen, change accent colour and the text that shows on the Lock screen.

If you have a lock screen password, this password will be asked when you try to access Kid’s Corner too.

Two methods to reset Windows Phone on HTC Windows Phone 8x

When you decide to reset windows phone it is probably because of two reasons, one being that you want to erase everything from your phone and start fresh, and the other one that for some reason  you have lost access to the SO of the device, so you don’t have another choice but to reset windows phone to regain access to your phone. We will explain the method you use in each case.

Hard reset Windows Phone on HTC Windows Phone by using WP Settings

This is the method you will use if you still have access to your mobile.

  1. Make sure your battery has more than 50% charge. The reason for this is the reset Windows Phone process takes up to 5 minutes, and we don’t want your battery to die out in the middle of the process.
  2. Go to the Settings menu, then select About, and then press the “Reset your phone” button
  3. The reset Windows Phone process will start. This process will take about 5 minutes and will require no interaction from you. Once the process is finalized, the phone will restart and it will be as out of the box.

This is the method used when, your some reason, you can’t access the operative system of the phone, and therefor you can not access the Settings menu. The reason is probably because you forgot your pin, and so you have no choice but to reset the phone to factory settings.

  1. As with the other option, please make sure your battery is charged at least at 50% so your phone will not die in the middle of the reset process.
  2. Make sure your phone is turned off
  3. Press down the Volume Down button, and after 3 seconds press the POWER button BRIEFLY. Keep pressing the Volume Down button until an exclamation appears on the screen.
  4. Now release the Volume Down button and press the following buttons in this sequence: VOLUME UP – VOLUME DOWN – POWER – VOLUME DOWN.
  5. The phone will reboot starting the reset process. This process will take about 5 minutes, after which the phone will restart as it came out of the box.
